From the old forum, that is. So, there being only 3 months or so until the end of 2009 (amazing how time flies when you're having fun, huh?) I thought I'd ask about a Chins n' Hedgies Calendar for 2010.

Was anyone else interested in another one?
Are the organizers of the last one here now?
Is anyone else interested in getting it rolling?

Wha'cha think, ya'll? Should we go for a second?

I love mine. I was initially the organizer of last years, but it was taken over when I realized how much it would cost at my local kinko's to make them. Sooooo, someone took over, and now I don't know who!

I definitely cannot take on production costs myself right now. We'd have to set up a pre-order or something. But Essentia, if you and I can start the ball rolling (getting the picture request up, sorting for voting, etc.) maybe we can find whoever took over printing on the last one in the next few days?

The name on the back of the calendar is Jenny Kyle Designs LLC. Anybody know the 'Net handle for her?

Well, in somewhat better news, the father I nanny for works at Staples, which offers calendar design, etc. So I can get prices and such through there. But, we have to go in with pics etc. ready to roll. I also live with/work for a graphic designer (amature) that I can get some feedback from. Want to take this to PM, Essentia?

I didn't order last time, but would like to get a calendar this time. I have two requests though -
1) I'd like to see better, clearer pictures. It's great to see cute pictures of chins, any chins, but this is for a calendar - blurry, off centered, bad lighting, bad contrasting pictures should not even be entered.
2) I would really like to see more colors than just white. Last time it was white after white after white. Regardless of whether someone photoshopped on a hat or whatever, it would be great if there could be a limit as to how many colors. Two in the white category, two in the black, two in the violet, etc.

I've been looking into making a calender for next year of my "Playchins" just for Lynn- and it's looking pretty good. I can post them for sale if anyone is interested once I'm done.

:woohoo:  :youwoman: :hug2: :impatient: !!!IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!

Can the picture of Neeko that you sent me for my birthday be the October (MY birth month) photo??? It's his sexiest pose!!! Oh, how I miss our Neeko...

Peggy, last year, if I recall, we were invited to submit photos and then the members voted for their favorites, so that might be how that happened.

Personally, I say ANY chinchilla calendar is a GREAT calendar, since no one makes one for the mass market. I'll buy them ALLL!!!

I agree with Tunes. The photos should be in focus, properly exposed and a high enough quality that they don't get pixilated when they are enlarged for printing.

We do a yearly calendar contest on one of the rat forums I frequent. We have specific guidelines for submissions as we want a quality calendar that people outside of our group would be proud to own. We have a small group (usually 3 or 4 of us that have a discerning eye when it comes to photography) that go through the original submissions and whittle them down into 6 groups of 6 - 8 (depending on the number of quality photos submitted) that fit best with the two months slots that they are competing for (Jan/Feb, March/April, etc.). Then the photos are put up for voting for a couple of weeks. All of the photos being voted on are posted without names to try to combat favoritism and voting for your friends. The first and second place winners in each group go in the calendar and are also put out to vote for one for the cover.

The rat group offers the calendar for sale on CafePress so nobody has to incur any upfront costs. The proceeds of the calendar go towards helping cover the cost of running the forum. We could turn this into a CnH event and set it up so that the proceeds of the calendar go to help pay to keep CnH up and running. If we are doing it as a CnH project, I would be more than happy to help with photo editing, I've done a number of calendars for the rat group, and photo selection.

I got the go ahead from the administrators to have an official CnH calendar. So I'd be happy to take this project over and get a submission thread going. Does that work for everyone? I'll set it up so that there will be no upfront costs that need to be funded and we will end up with a really nice, quality calendar.

I'm in....Can I get my heart boys for February? ;)

Can we add little blurbs or something on pics...like I got of my boy sitting up with censored in front of his man parts. I crack myself up.

Lydz -- I was referring to Stacie's Playchin Calendar (about which I have been bugging her for at least 3 years). THANKS, Stacie!!! :)

I know we'll have to vote for favorites on the Official CnH one.
