Hi everyone! This is my new chinnie Ruby (hence the title). I gave her that name because of her red eyes. She is almost 6 months (according to previous owner) and I got her from a guy off CL who previously named Blueberry because she liked to eat raisins and blueberries..you don't know how angry that made me!! :banghead: However, I had to contain myself because I knew that I was bringing her into a great home where she won't get bad treats any longer! I think she is a brown velvet..Can someone verify? He said that her parents were a standard and a white. I'm not so sure I believe him lol this whole weekend my boyfriend and I have been ordering stuff nonstop for her (ledges, tubes, toys, wood, treats, etc) from members from this forum. I'm so excited for everything to come in so I can spoil her (not with the treats of course). When we first brought her home, we set the opening of the travel carrier in her cage so that she could come out when she felt ready. This took around 15 minutes and she kept going in and out. I guess she was exploring her new home. We took the carrier out and let her wander around the cage. We sat on the floor in front of her cage and spoke softly to her so that she could get used to our voice. After a few minutes I saw that she was trying to get out so I put my hands up to the cage and she jumped into them and started crawling on me!! I was so excited! She is warming up very quickly so hopefully in a few days she will be ready for playtime. She's still trying to get used to the noises in the house (dogs, tv, etc) I am getting my black velvet baby in March so hopefully they will get along with each other
