Ok, quite a few of you know of Keith's "requirements" before we move in together, and how one of those requirements was causing me huge issues. (For those of you who don't know, my boyfriend wanted us to both have $2000 in the bank, and I needed to get a car). Sounds simple, right? Wrong! I couldn't seem to save up anything towards a car, and I went somewhere that was "Guaranteed financing" and even they couldn't help without $1,000 down. Well, I decided to bite the bullet and applied for a loan through my credit union... And got approved for a 5 year, $9,000 loan! SO! Loan in hand, I went to a local dealership that uses my credit union as one of their banks. Get there. The vehicle I had been looking at was sold that morning! BOO! BUT! They had the same model there, with half as many miles on it and would give it to me for the same price. Looked at it, took a test drive. Was in love. Filled out the paperwork. Got the phone call this morning, I've been approved! And better yet? The price on the vehicle dropped even more because of the bank only covering so much! These guys were just AWESOME to deal with! Wednesday I get to go pick up the "new baby" and look forward to 5 years of payments! I'm so excited!

Oh yeah, it's a 2005 Jeep Liberty Sport with only 45k miles on it.

YAY!!!! That's so awesome that things worked out! Hopefully this is the start of good things for you! Red is totally your color too...lol!

I know, right Tab? It'll match Keith ;) Tell HB I thank him for his crossed legs! He can uncross them now!

Congrats on the car Ash, it's very nice.

As to the requirements before committing? Boy needs to learn some manners, or he would here anyway.......

Peggy, I can totally understand the requirements. Neither one of us wants to live in the city, so I do need a car, especially since I don't want to ride the bus, and we work opposite shifts. So, it's just not realistic to share a vehicle. He's also moved out twice on his own just to end up back home, so the nest egg isn't a bad idea. One of us has to have somewhat of a brain when it comes to this. He's all for committing, but would prefer we're financially ready and able.

Congrats! The car looks awesome. I like crossover SUV's. Practical and economical (most of the time.)
