So, Radar lives at my fiance's house and he's taking his time warming up. Understandable, it took a month and a half for Radar to be as warm and loving to me as he is now, but my fiance is a little disheartened by the fuzzball that barks, kacks and nips at him. I try to be reassuring and tell him not to be hurt over a single rodent not liking him but...

Tonight, however, I feel really loved (and really bad for my fiance). I had called to chat and I was put on speaker phone. As soon as I'm on speaker phone my fiance curses about how Radar really doesn't like him. I ask how we randomly went from the current topic to Radar and he tells me that as soon as I was put on speaker phone Radar bounded over to the cage door and started frantically trying to get to the sound source. He took me off speaker phone and Radar calmed down and went back to his lil' house/hut/hidey thing. He put me back on speaker phone and Radar comes bounding out again and starts running from side to side in the cage and stopping at the door.

I'm used to this when I come over and walk through the door, but over the speaker phone? Aww, I love my little chin. <3

Though, I think I may end up moving him to my house and finding a more friendly chin for my fiance. He reeeeeeeeally wanted a chin first and I don't know if Radar will ever warm up. I keep hearing stories from other owners about how selective their chins are about who they are friendly towards, irrespective of the time frame they had to get used to new people.

Aww what a cute story. I think another chin for him might be a good idea, Radar senses that your fiance has a little bit of negative attitude towards him

Awww, Radar sounds like he's already your baby! My boys generally prefer me to my BF too. :D

Okay, we have an improvement... I can hand off Radar to my fiance without much fuss from my lil' fuzzball. And while sitting on my shoulder we hopped over to someone else's shoulder and than sat on their head while they worked on the computer, lol.

I'm working on bribing my chinchilla. Only my fiance gives him treats, I'm hoping the association between good, tasty things and him works out.
