Yes, I still go by the old ranch name of Dark Labyrinth Chinchillas, but its definately not a herd anymore! I have actually been interviewing and rehoming some of the last, non-pet chins of mine. Do I want the herd back? Maybe, once I have a complete set up at the new place for them. For now I am content with pets! Besides, its SO fun getting to spoil them!
The Chins of the DLC
Damien: those of you that remember me, probably remember him, my gorgeous, black velvet e/c 3rd best in show from OKC 2006. Yes, he is still around! He sits at nearly 1000g, only problem is, he's completely sterile.
Vengeance: My 1st place Smith boy that I bought at OKC 2006. He's gorgeous as ever and the cagemate of Damien. He is the ONLY chin big enough to not get bullied by the big guy, a gorgeous Mosaic.
Mei Mei: My 1st baby EVER born at DLC/MFC. True Extra Dark Ebony, and may give me the last baby/s born here, bred to a Bradford standard. Not positive she's pregnant, but its possible. I'm not QUITE sure where she's going to go, she may get spayed so she can go in with Vengeance and Damien, or I may just put her in, Vengeance is a slow breeder and the babies those two have had together are stunning!
Jareth: 1st place Mosaic I had from 2006. He is ALSO sterile (Something about that year...) and looooves his cage buddies. He's one of the most cuddly chins!
Royal: A sapphire I got from Kathleen of Diamond Bar chins. This poor guy went through everything, his mate tore him up, he had huge absesses, and a SEVERE eye infection that left him partially blind. He is very friendly and is cagemates with Jareth and Connor.
Connor: My big boy from the infamous Malo-herd, he is still doing GREAT, no signs of malo at all. Still not sure whether he is a HBPW, or a true albino, though the Bradfords thought it was very possible he was albino. He is the sweetest of chins and sleeps in a big puppy pile with Royal and Jareth.
Their new cages are in progress, they are currently in 24X24X24 cages, but I have two Marshall Mansions that are being renovated right now. Working on shelves, hay houses, fleece items, ect, to spoil them even more rotten than they are. They deserve to get spoiled after all!
Feeding is similar to what it has always been, PANR (not sure about the new abreviation since it changed names), a bit of the supplement (Ryerson Supplement + Herb Infusion), and hay. I am still working on stuff to spoil them with, though they do get shredded wheat on occassion.
Since its been a while I would like to thank Tunes, And Riven, for their help back when I was breeding, as well as Kathleen Luis, Christina Stark, and Jennifer of Soonerchinchilla... I dont even know if most of them are still breeding, but I thank them anyway! Any suggestions for spoiling them is welcome!!
