How old is your oldest chinchilla?

My oldest ever is 20 1/2 and her daughter was 14 when she produced the 2009 ECBC Nat'l GSC Standard.

My oldest is 9 1/2.

Not very old compared to the others. two of mine turn 2 in a few months, Nov, and Dec.

We had a rescue come in that is documented to be 17 years old!
Can you believe someone would give up a pet after that long?
This chinnie spent his whole life with a female and they bred nonstop.
The female finally died and the owner didnt' know what to do for the male who "seemed depressed". The little guy is now friends with another male and doing well despite the cataracts.
