How many???

How many of us chin owners have come home and seen our chin laying like this and thought the worse has happened? My heart fell through the floor when I walked in from work today.

Low and behold he was just chin-chillin.

I've had chins for 7 years now and I still have to poke them to make sure they're alive when they sleep like that sometimes. )

The first time Edgar did that I almost had a heart attack and scared the poor guy when I woke him up. Beautiful chinchilla too.

One of my chins is deaf, and he sleeps like he's dead all the time. He gets poked awake almost everyday.

He is only 6 months old. This is how I usually find him when I come home.

Cuteness! I have one chin that sleeps like he's dead 100% of the time. He also has the slowest reaction speed ever when he's having a good snooze. And if you try to wake him up/poke him, he'll just give you the sleepiest, dirtiest look ever lol

sleepwalking?

I heard my 5 mo old male squeaking constantly the other day. He was staggering against the side of his cage. I stuck my hand in and he hopped right on. He did this two more times. I thought he was dying! Each time he went back to sleep. He's so ornery I figured he was probably chasing treats in his sleep.:hilarious:

I've had my chin for 8 years now, and he sleeps on his side almost all the time, on top of his house, he never goes in his house, he sleeps on his side on top of it. Also he sleeps on his side on his hammock everyday. He used to get to his side when he was in a wire cage after playtime, he would cool down that way. It's normal.

My youngest sleeps like that most of the time. She's very slow to wake up too. Unless, she hears food/treat containers being opened. Then and only then does she become the fastest to wake up. Silly little animals.

I've had a few that were sleeping so deeply, I began to make some noise, and that didn't work! I had to go as far as to open their cage and poke them. They have the drowsiest look on their faces when they've been sleeping like that. Very scary sometimes!

My very first rescue did that in his cage the first week I got him, I literally screamed for John to come and remove his dead body because I could not believe I killed him in that short period of time.
