How long do pellets stay good for?

I ordered 10 pounds off the internet since it was the same price i was paying for 2.5 pounds at Petsmart but i didn't really realize how much 10 pounds of Chinchilla food is until it arrived at my house....it will take my chin 6+ months to eat all this....will it stay good that long?

I won't use pellets older than 6 months past the mill date. The nutrients start to degrade and lose their value.

We use pellets up to 6 months after the mill date. So if the pellets were milled January 1, then you have until July 1 to use them (as an example).
