How big can grasshoppers be? (for treats to hedgies)

I found a grasshopper for my hedgie, but as i see it, its ENORMOUS. do you think its safe for him?
also, he is alive. will my hedgie be able to catch it?

If this is a wild caught grasshopper then it is not safe for him at all. There is too much risk of it having come in contact with herbicides or pesticides. It's safest to only feed commercially or home raised bugs.

In addition to pesticides and herbicides, they often have internal parasites (worms usually).
