Hi everyone,

I am a (fairly) new chinchilla owner and I would like to get the best pellet-based food available in my region. My problem is that I live in Finland and here are not many choices for quality chinchilla food. I have been feeding Versele-Laga Chinchilla Complete, but I would like to know if it's good for my chin's health or not.

Here are the nutrition facts of the pellet I mentioned above:

Protein 16%
fats of vegetable origin 3.5%
20% of the fiber
ash content of 8%
calcium, 0.9%
phosphorus, 0.6%

Ingredients: Preparations of vegetables, cereals, vegetables (min. 10%), vegetable protein extracts, seeds, minerals, prebiotics FOS and MOS, lecithin (0.2 /%), yucca extract, marigold

Is it good for my chinchillas?

Thanks for the answers

Thank you for the answer and I see that the Versele-Laga Chinchilla Complete is not as well nutritionally balanced as the Mazuri or Oxbow but unfortunately where is live I can't purchase either of them. That's why I would need to know if the pellet I chose is good enough for my chins to maintain a healthy diet.

If it's all you can get, it won't make much difference really. You aren't offering two choices and saying which is better. You're saying this is what you can get. No, it's not a great feed, but what else can you do?

Oxbow ships pretty much to anywhere in the world depending on where you buy it from. there are people on here who will ship anywhere in the world as well. You might want to consider checking with them. If you only have a couple chinchillas, 15 pounds of feed will last you a good bit, especially if you give them good quality hay along with it.
