I just got my mother in law's snakes moved in and settled. Of the 4, I've already decided to call the female Royal Python/Ball Python Nefertiti. She's really shy, a little underweight, and kind of stressed, so she needs a name that will lend her grace and strength.

Then there's a male Ball/Royal Python that I'm thinking of calling Goober or Mr. Peanut, or maybe Skippy or Jiff b/c he has a peanut shell shaped mark about midway down his back. Another option is Spock for the 'alien head' shapes on his sides. (I'll try to get pictures of these markings tomorrow. It's pretty wild.)

But then come the corn snakes. They're both candy cane phase, which means most of their bodies are white, and the inside of their saddles (spots) are white, but the outlines are a tomato soup color. I'd thought of Bread and Fritter (since they're "corn" snakes), and also Flicker and Flame. Then I thought of a traditionally "southern" name, i.e. Billy Bob and Betty Jo or something from Hee-Haw/The Beverly Hillbillies/My Name is Earl, and then I said to heck with it and decided to ask for some outside input.

I like Bread and Fritter for the Corns. My two are Zafir and Nazeem (formerly known as Zema and Zippy, by their 4 y.o. human).

I like the name, Spock, as well ...but most "normal" phase Balls have those "alien heads" along their sides, so you may want to go with something more specific? My guy's name is Gordo ...uhh.. cuz he is! ;)

You could also name the Corns after two candy brands.. since they are "candy canes" ..or two tomato species (ie., Heinz and Roma, etc.) ...or a set of famous twins ..or lots of options .......but I really do like the Bread and Fritter option ;)

There's always THIS site ..to keep you busy for an hour or more, trying to pick one or two from thousands of options :p

That site helped a lot, Aneesa. :) I decided on Ramses for the male ball. Might as well keep the Egypt theme going. Then for the corns, since they're from the US, I found 2 Hopi names, Ahote "Restless One" and Takala- "Corn Tassel", that I like for them. I was a little apprehensive to name a snake Bread when my Taller Half's dad/Mom in law's ex hubby is named Fred. It was just a little too close to be comfortable, I think, though I laughed like an idiot when I thought of those names in the first place. :)

"bread.. fred... " LMBO! :dance3:

I like the names you've chosen. I, especially, like the Hopi names ;)

Post pics of your slitherin' kids when you can...

If you do, I will... I have some new ones!

Awww.. they are so sweet and pretty! :)

I'll start a new thread ...with warnings in the title.. and show mine. Maybe tomorrow. I got in a new baby this past week ..and am expecting a brand spankin' new baby next Tuesday. That will bring me to 11, I think. I'd have to do a head count. LOL
