I have a new Hedgie, Pepper.
With my previous hedgie we started out with a non cedar basic bedding and he had skin alergies which is what made me start using the puppy pads which were changed daily.

I have had several people tell me that I should use a bedding.
Is it not ok to use a puppy pad for easier clean up?
He has a fresh blanket put in daily to bury himself in and seems to be very happy.

Thanks!

I would have to say that I cant vote for either. Puppy pads have chemicals in them to attract dogs to potty on them. Not something I personally would want my hedgehogs living on. And Im not a fan of bedding either..

I would suggest some fleece liners. They have that convience of the puppy pads. Just shake off the excess poops and throw it in the washer.

I use fleece and yesterday's news. I love YN, it absorbs smell very well and is easy to clean up.

I voted bedding. I use YN and it's perfect for me (liners just don't work with Litchi). I was told too that puppy pad had some chemical not really good for little hedgie's nose.

i would go with fleece, you can wash them and reuse them, cheaper, and much safer than puppy pads and loose bedding.

You can get the pads in the people section. near where they have adult diapers.
They are made just like puppy pads but they don't have the chemicals in them and they come in different sizes.

I cut them in half length wise and width wise (so you get 4 uses out of 1 pad) and put them under the wheels.
