I have a very stubborn 4 month old chinchilla who never wants to go back into his cage after his small playtime, so yesterday I bribed him with a small piece of shredded wheat, seeing as hes been having some digestion problems. After that I thought it might be a good idea to make cookies for him considering he loves the wheat (I've given him a piece a couple of times now) and it gets him in his cage, plus, it should help digestion. I looked at recipes and wanted a healthy, non sugary alternative that wouldn't overwhelm his body and thought I'd share it!

And there we go, cookies that should not only be a bit healthier to chins, but enjoyable for them too
(side note, the dough has a smell to it and you may feel nauseated, I've seen recipes on here and I didn't see warnings, but it may be because this is reduced)

- 1/2 cup of rolled oats
- 2 cups of water
- 3 handfulls of hay (you can modify this to your liking)
- 2 large plain shredded wheat squares (crushed/blended)
- supplements if needed (I didn't add any but you can if you'd like)

- whisk until it has dough consistency
- bake at 200* F for 2 hours or until dry
- leave to cool then treat your chin(s)
