My Lenora, who came to me completely tame, is about 5 months old now. She and I are having a blast! We are learning what she needs together. :)

I just purchased a second fence so I can make a bigger out of cage play area for her. I open the door to her cage and she jumps on me and eats a few treats and then puts on a good "show" for me. Just hilarious. It became very obvious that she needed more room to play safely. I am in heaven every time she comes to me where I sit and checks in and then bounds off again.

I am also enjoying finishing her cage. I am expanding it up one level in a few days and have just purchased a fleece covered tube from Chamforchins. I can't wait to get it and see her snugged up in her tube. I plan to add more shelves and lava ledges too.

I also have a metal flying saucer on order. She is using a plastic flying saucer now. Besides that it is plastic she is quickly outgrowing it. I can't wait to see her run on the larger metal flying saucer.

The only problem I have run into so far is a minor one. I switched from Carefresh bedding to pine shavings. I like the smell of the pine and the shavings vacuum up better than the Carefresh but the shavings get in her pellet bowl. I was worried she was not eating correctly.

I will try one of those bowls that curve over. Or get a bowl to attach to her cage.

Other than that we are doing well and are BOTH very happy.

I always recommend a hanging feeder over a bowl. They will get shavings in their bowl, poop, they will pee in a bowl, they will tip the bowl over. With a hanging feeder, you don't have those problems. Is there any way you can put a hanging feeder in the cage instead of a bowl?

I use the dome covered bowl (it is essentially half covered on the top) and I rarely find anything in it :)). If hanging is not an option I would recommend this style :)).

I am getting a dome bowl on my way home tonight. If we still have a problem I will definitely get a hanging bowl. If I see both in the store tonight I might get both anyway. :)
