I have a male that is around 6/7 months old. I was going to do a hair ring check but he doesn't like being held at all. I can't get him to hold still. Any tips?

I have that problem too with my boys. You will probably need an extra pair of hands. Have someone hold him with his back against their chest. They need to hold him gentle but firm and hold his back feet out of the way. Then you can go in there and check. He may squirm, but that's natural. He will get used to it eventually.

The easiest and safest way for a squirmy chin is making a "burrito" with a towel. Wrap your chin up in a towel, not too tight, like a burrito. This should help you restrain him. Then try performing the check while he is restrained in the towel. It's easier with two people; one to hold the chinnie while he is wrapped up, and the other to perform the hair ring check. KY jelly works very well to help lubricate the penis and make it easier to extract and retract.
