Jax Chinchilla Rescue
I took in a new rescue tonight that seems in good condition, but has been peroidically grinding his teeth. He is chewing on all his new toys, scarfing down hay and is even eating the good for him feed. He came with a big ol' bag of Charlie Chinchilla so I was worried that he wouldn't take to Purina Rabbit Chow Show, but apparently he likes it because he hasn't left the bowl since unless he is chewing on something else. He also doesn't seem the least bit stressed. He's alert, friendly and active as the dickens. I made a vet appointment for him on Monday just in case he does have some teeth issues going on, though he really isn't acting like it.
Could the grinding be from something else? He did have a hair ring that I removed, which I could tell he wasn't really happy about, but he still didn't act all that stressed about it the second I put him back in the cage.
Just trying to get a second opinion before I bring him to the vet and possibly stress him out further for something that could be nothing. I haven't had a chin that grinds their teeth, so I'm not really experienced with it.
