I was wondering if this food is good for chinchillas.
Versele-Laga
When I got Burrito I also bought a 3KG bag of it. It has bannana chips and other fruits and rasins in it. I pick them out and give them to him as treats.:)
I just wanted to know if this was ok for him. I plan to switch to mazuri when this starts to run out. Thanks.

I'm not sure if this food is worth waiting until the end to switch to Mazuri. It's good that you are picking out the non-pellet items, but I wouldn't give them to your chin as a treat. The dried fruit pieces are very high in sugar and can sometimes make the chin's poo a bit funky.

Better chin-friendly treats are: pumice stones, lava bites, chin-safe wood/sticks/twigs, dried rosehips, old-fashioned rolled oats (not the instant kind), shredded wheat squares (unfrosted), Cheerios, dried rose buds, coconut straw, sisal rope,...
Give treats sparely, but the wooden items and stone items can be given on a more frequent basis. They are good for their teeth! You can search the forum for more safe treats.

I use the same food.
Versele-Laga is a Belgian brand.
Funny enough me and a Spanish user (can't remember name) talked about it today.
I'm thinking of switching to Chinchilla complete from the same brand. This one only contains pellets

HI...the best food is OXBOW pellets.

Not true. Oxbow is one of many good foods. PANR, Nutrena, Tradition, Oxbow, Mazuri (probably others I'm missing). They are all good feeds. Personally, my chins wouldn't eat Oxbow, so even if a food is amazing, if an animal won't eat it, it really isn't doing any good. :p

I agree, with Essentia, those are the ones I have seen listed as good quality.

Treats in a food always denote junk brand of feed.
