Hi, ya'll!
Just wanted to share this pic!
I just adopted a German Chinchilla that came from Germany!!! This nice lady was adopting this chin out almost FREE.
He is 3 years old. This German lady brought him from Germany. She has other chins that she just bought here. Until I went to pick him up, I didn't know that he had flown from Germany, so I feel very lucky. It's cool! This black velvet boy is small. The lady says that he is a different breed as compare to American breed. Does anybody know about European chin breed?

They're all the same, chins get shipped internationally all the time. :))

There is a different type of violet called a german violet, but your guy isn't one of those. Unless you got a pedigree, he could very well have a ritterspach parent.

Is this lady a member here? Or maybe was it CnQ? I think I remember reading a post from a German woman who came here and brought her chinchillas with her. Her husband was very understanding of her not wanting to move to the USA without her chinchillas.

Congrats on your new chin!

I recall the chin owner from Germany who shipped her chinchillas to a CnQ member who I am pretty sure lived in Maryland. The member watched her chinchillas until the chin owner moved to the U.S, got settled in, and could take her chins back.

I moved here from Germany over four years ago and brought some german chinchillas with me. I have since rehomed some of them, but this little guy can`t be one of mine, since he is only three years old.

The chinchillas in Germany don`t look any different than the ones over here, there are all kinds of sizes, small, large, skinny, blocky.

I was going to say that Claudia lived in Germany but she already spoke up!

There are not "different breeds" of chins pre se, just different gene pools.
