General Chinchilla Show Question

I am a fairly new chinchilla owner, and I was curious about Chinchilla shows.

How do you find out where they will be? What does it take for a chinchilla to be in a show?

You can check the MCBA and Empress web sites and they will give listings for upcoming shows, as well as the show section on this forum.

Any chin can be in a show. That doesn't mean they will do well, but they can be in the show. Some pet owners show them just for the fun experience, but mostly it's breeders showing their offspring so they can get opinions on them, then decide if they want to breed or sell them.

I agree watching the forums for show information is really your best bet. Usually they are all posted on the forums and there is alot of chit chat of people getting excited and getting their animals ready to go and you can get an idea of the people going and where they are coming from... Shows are a lot of fun. Even if you dont take an animal to show you should come for just the expierence..
