Hi there. I just saw chinny fur and on the right side of the leg it seems like his fur
Got cut off. What is wrong? I have done reasearching that he could either be stressed or bored? But what else could it be? Are there any ways to stop it besides trying to change the environment or adding more toys for him. As he has plenty of things to chew on..

Fur chewing, at it's core, is genetic. So if he's chewing, it's because it's been bred into him. Boredom or stress can cause the chewing to start, but most people believe it's always been there. Environment can cause a chin to chew. I brought home a chin from a ranch who chewed a quarter sized spot on her hip there, and has never chewed here in 5 years.

Try putting him in a better cage. It's possible that he's chewing because of the one he's in. If it doesn't stop after that, then it's most likely not going to. A lot of times once they start, it becomes a habit, and the habit is almost impossible to break.

Oh my then what am I to do? He has not been chewing at all and he has been in the same cage,... Since he came only last night when I noticed..

By the way, my chin has a lot of things to chew on and jump up down etc.. I don't think he is bored. And environment has been the same. Can it be perfume that I spry outside and I come back into the room and it can get pretty strong? Are there any more possibilities?

Chins can start chewing because of some figment of their imagination, its that hard to tell why. You won't know why they start or stop.
