Hi, Just wanted to share with all of you what happened to Casper [my ferret] today. I thought it was quite funny, but because she didn't get hurt. Of course if she got hurt, it wouldn't of been funny.

Anyways, Casper's cage is in the same room as my chins. [And no I don't let her play outside her cage in that room, I always shut the door and don't let her in the room when Casper has her playtime.] Anyways, I was in the room and had two chins out playing, and I was just sitting there watching them like I always do, and Casper woke up. Casper sleeps on the top shelf of her cage, and came down to the bottom shelf, which thankfully isn't much higher than the cage floor. She was on the shelf, rolling around, yawning, doing what she does when she first wakes up. So I turned my eyes back on my chinchillas that were out and then I hurd a little thud. I turned back to Casper's cage and she was on the floor of the cage, she had must of rolled off the shelf onto the floor. I just laughed when I realized she didn't get hurt. [and i'm really glad she didn't get hurt, so don't take this the wrong way]. Just wanted to share, because animals often do silly things like this, of course not on purpose, and they can be funny when they don't get hurt.

I'm sure we all have funny stories with our other pets when they do stuff like this.

Haha that sounds cute. Sounds like my Kona, I was giving dust baths today and Kona and Mei were waiting their turn but apparently Kona didn't want to wait so she started rolling around on her shelf and rolled right off lol

I just wanted to say though, are you 100% positive that your ferret cannot get out of it's cage while you're gone? If your ferret were able to get out and get to your chins, that could be very horrible..

That is exactly what happened to my Pepper. Luckily he didn't have far to fall. Now I've got 2 dust bath houses because I have 2 boys that won't share and are impatient! :impatient:

Lolabug likes to attack the vaccum everytime I have the hose out. One day she got too close and got her top lip sucked in the hose. Now she bites at the air towards the hose when its out.

When my cats were kittens, sometimes they try to jump from one piece of furniture to another and not quite make it. Then they'd be like all embarrassed. It was quite funny.

Haha! Those stories are great! I think it's so precious/funny when animals get embarrassed!

Yes I am sure and I know how horrible it can be. So on every door to that cage I have a lock on it, like one of those at the end of a dog leash, so there is no way Casper can get out. But thanks.

But this is how I know, another story, sad one though.

I had a ferret [jasper] about 20 years ago before they became popular pets, at the time I was still living home, and my sister had divorsed so she came home too. She had three birds, one of them was a parakeet [spelling?] and she always clipped their wings. Well one day, the birds were out, and the little one [parakeet] got out of the cage, and landed on the floor, and my ferret at the time happened to be out for his playtime, and he went over to the bird and did the ferret thing. I couldn't for the life of me get the bird out of his mouth. She died instantly, because Jasper's teeth went right threw her head. It was so upsetting, and I felt horrible. But yes, so I do know how strong they are. Alot of people don't realize it.

And speaking of dust baths I forgot to mention this one, one of my chins was in the bath house taking his bath, and my other chin couldn't wait to get in, so he just put his head in, took it back out, and started to roll on the outside of the bath house, it was sooo funny. He did it about three times. lol

I'm glad your Kona didn't get hurt when she fell.
