I live in a small, semi private neighborhood. The other evening, I went out to go to the store. As I drove round a curve I saw a doe on the side of the road, about to cross. I slowed down to almost a stop, as I did not know what she was going to do. I stopped then as she started to cross (there was no one behind me) She came alongside my car and peered in, then moved on. She did look back once when she got to the other side. She was so close to my car, that if I had my window down, I could have reached out and booped her on the nose. Wish I'd had my camera.

Wish I'd had my camera.

isn't that always how it is?! I never have my camera on hand for those spectacular moments.

I love seeing deer, and although I see quite a bit out my way, I never get enough. And I've never had one come close enough to my car to peer in!

I have them so close to my home that sometimes I have to wait until they get out of my driveway so I can drive in. I also have gotten out of my car and had them grazing less than 10 feet from me. If I don't head toward them they will stay there and just look at me. I have a herd of about 20 that sleep in my back yard

we had deer on our property when we first moved here, but haven't seen them for years. I really miss them. But we have plenty in the area to keep me happy.

My most memorable memory with a deer was when I went down to our mailbox after it was dark and I was using only my cellphone (when I had one) as a light when I looked up from the mail box there was a HUGE buck staring at me, we stared at each other for a couple seconds before I screamed and ran back up to the house, forgetting all about the mail. :[

Recently while in my backyard there was a doe in my next door neighbor's back yard. It was afternoon and I watched her for a long time.

My most memorable encounters with deer were many years ago. I was on a fishing vacation with my family in Wisconsin. Each day I went horseback riding in the forest. Deer would run with the horse on each side through the forest. The deer were less than 10 feet from the horse. It is something I will never forget.

how about this?

Fantastic picture! Their is a deer preserve sp? about an hour away. You drive in there, you use to be able to feed them so we'd roll down the windows and dozens of them would come up and eat, but now you're not allowed to do that. They are still there though and some of them love scritches

this one lost his mommy and I had to rehab him for a few days. I have tons of pictures of him but that is one of my favorites. He would chase you like a puppy, so sweet! I got him back in good health and handed him off to another rehaber that didn't have young kids. There is no way I could have kept him away from my kids to keep him from imprinting on humans.
