Thanks for posting this--luckily I'm already using the non-animal testing ones. But this will defianately come in handy for future use :)

Ok, call me stupid, but if they don't test it on animals, how do they know if cats/dog or whatever speacies likes it? They can't put out a food like that in the market and never conduct testing, it's weird....

I agree Karine. It's a pet food. They have to do some kind of testing on it. I have no issue with some forms of testing. They have a food, they feed it to dogs or cats to see if they like it, the kibble shape is good, bowel movements are good. What I do have issue with is when they then euthanize the animals to study their organs after being on the food, or if they do any type of invasive or painful testing while the animal is on the food.

The latter could be what they mean by "animal testing." I totally thought the same thing.. Animal food not tested on animals? WTH.. Who eats it then? Humans?

Oh I see, it didn't even cross my mind they would do this. I just tought they tested it the same way they do for human food (they never kill human in those testings!). Thanks for clearing that up.

Yeah, I should freaking hope they do SOME testing of a food before they bag it up & sell it to consumers. o_O

But at what point does it become "invasive or painful testing"? Would taking a blood sample fall under that heading?

I think the answer to that depends on who you're asking.

Meanwhile, Satin continues to "test" food on herself. She was a nice bright orange in some areas until last night's bathtime ;)
