Fn 142

anyone know where to buy one? ive looked online but i can only find the 182. i know the cage is the same size but ive heard and read that the 142 is sturdier than the new tool-less to put together 182...

ive looked on CL for second hand ones but cant find one there... cant find any new ones online either...

Most likely the only way you're going to find a 142 is from someone selling it. Midwest no longer makes the 142 model and most stores now carry the 182. Just keep looking on Craigslist, and try posting a wanted ad here.

I'm in CA as well, I've got three of the 142's and have found them all by craigslist. it takes patience and persistence to get one, especially at a good price. A short while back someone was selling off all their stuff and had a whole bunch of them down in the L.A. area, I'd considered making the trip but didn't have any way to transport more than one, maybe two if I was lucky, so it wouldn't have been worth it for me. More than likely you'll have to drive a ways to get one though, they don't come on the market all that often. I'm actually picking another one up tomorrow but its a 100 miles away.

I have a used 142 that I am in the process of revamping. Once that is done, O plan on selling it. If you are interested, let me know.

I have the 182 and there's nothing wrong with it. It's quite sturdy. Of course, I've never had a 142 to compare to, but it's solid.
