Honestly, I'd stay away from anything plastic. Even little bits of plastic in Charlie's digestive tract can cause problems. Pet stores are notorious for selling bad and dangerous products. What kind of cage does Charlie have? Is there room for a Chin Spin? :)

Charlie is in a FN 142... so yes there is enough room for toys :) Charlie hasn't proven to be much of a chewer *yet, but true enough about the plastic hmmmm so I guess ordering online is the only way to get a 'good' wheel?

Not only is that first video obnoxious to watch (upside down, sideways, backwards, yeesh, talk about nauseating) they must not have had a clue how to mount that wheel. I've seen dozens of videos with those wheels in them and you would hardly even know they were there they are so quiet. That is definitely a bad representation on how "quiet" it is, as the voiceover states.

I think the most common complaint about the FS from people is the space it takes up. As Allison suggested, you can combat the noise easily, but you they seem to just suck up cage space. It would seem like you need a really large cage to make it work well.

That's the cage I'm modifying now for my chins :)

Yeah, honestly. I prefer to buy from those who are experts at what they do. Many pet stores only care about making a profit, they don't care who gets hurt (animals).

I found something better:

But this video also isn't the best either, so I don't know if it's not picking up all of the noises. Seems quiet on this.

I'm almost certain the CS is the way to go :)

To me they are both fairly quiet and mostly all you hear are their little paws running. It also depends on the type of cage you have in it too. Mostly you hear the cage rattling.

As Parkerspetchins said not all chins take to the FS. I've changed the FS and CHins Spin around and while all the girls have learned to use the FS it took them a number of hours to really get on it and figure it out. The chin spin on the other had all had figured out (maybe not how the brakes worked.. lol) within minutes. As I said I have one of both and I switch them around bi monthly.

Plus if you do get one style and don't like it people on here are usually clammering for them, so you won't be out much money.

That's exactly what I was thinking :) Thanks!
