Ok so I think by now we can all agree that after a quick search on this forum one can safely conclude that a fan does not keep a chin cool (unless you are trying to circulate cold air) .. My question is does blowing a fan on a chin hurt them?

I have a window fan which does an AMAZING job of keeping my room cool. But the window fan is exactly opposite my chins cage. Unfortunately, my room is very tiny and the layout I have now is the only one that will work so I can't move their cage to a different spot and I can't move the fan to another window because its the only one I have. The distance between the fan and the cage is only about 3 or 4 feet so the draft is pretty strong... But I don't want to compromise their health...

What do you guys think?

I do know with hedgies that drafts of air can contribute to Upper Respiratory Infections. I would think the same thing is possible with chins?

I wouldn't place the air directly on them, but facing away from them if you can.

You could try blocking the air from the side of the cage. Maybe you could hang a sheet or a blanket, something to keep it from blowing directly on your chin. To me, a fan blowing on them is no different than them being in a drafty house, especially if it's cool air. I would not want it blowing directly on my chins.
