So my fiance and I were in PetSmart the other day looking for a new house for Hazel (she is outgrowing her and by the way...her vet visit went well. She is very healthy but is being treated for mites just incase since we thought we saw some, though the vet didn't there). My fiance looked in at the fancy rats and commented on how cute they were. He has commented before in pet stores too. Well these were a very good price and there were all kinds of sales and he kept bringing them up on the ride home. We even read through a pamplet. So...we went back and got two fancy rats...us and our love for rodents! We got two since they are very social and they are actually very cheap to maintain! (which is one of the reasons we got them) Food isn't too bad and they can eat almost anything for treats, as long as in moderation. There are of course some things they can't eat. We researched awhile before and after our purchase and we are already so in love! They are cute little buggers...one is very active and wants to explore everything and the other is more mellow. He curled up on my fiance's shoulder today as he was laying in bed and fell asleep. It was so adorable I wish I knew where the camera was.
So yes, we have added to our family of critters...and will most likely add more after we get our new place.
