It's a pretty awesome cage for either kind of animal, though the rat people I'm in touch with caution that small does and juveniles have been known to squeeze out of a FN. I can't see how unless they're really itty bitty, but I've heard it from 3 or 4 different people, so it must have happened somehow. *shrug*

Looks like she had hardware cloth on it for that reason.

Yay for new cages. I'm sure the ratties are excited about the upgrade.

I couldn't tell one way or another from the pictures, but how the heck do they get out of there without it? It's only an inch!

If their head goes, the rest just follows! It's amazing what they can squeeze into/out of.

Good thing my son can't see this thread. Ramos has pet rats in the class room and made "monkey pillows" for them a couple weeks back, or I should say, had me make them, but he picked out the fleece!
