As you know, I took in 2 girls who are very under weight. Now I know slow and steady will get them there, but is there anything else I can slowly give to them? Right now they are getting Mazuri which they were on when I got them, with a few pellets of Oxbow each time, just to start transitioning them, but I will not rush that and timothy hay.

But I was wondering what maybe else I can attempt to give them supplement wise? or not a good idea?

I used the Ryerson supplement, it puts on weight but not fat, which is nice. I've known people that used almonds but those have a tendency to cause squishy poo, as does any highly fatty item.

What about some Life Line? Not sure if that puts weight on but I have given it my chins when they were recovering from an illness as boost.

I do give them Lifeline with added acidophilus. They dont much care for it, but I figured it would help their tummies.

You may have already tried this, but I have one chinnie who will not touch Lifeline unless I mix it with water to a very specific consistency. (Which, of course, she has me trained to do - lol!) My other two are better about it, but do prefer it as more of a paste. Maybe some experimenting and you may find a way they'll eat it.

My skinny/ bony girl has started gaining weight since we started a regular regiment of lifeline. I also add a drop or two of dyne every other week or so for added calories. She HATED lifeline at the beginning but has grown to love it. If I accidentally get it too runny she won't take it from me, but she will eat it eventually if I put it in her pellet bowl. When I get the consistency just right she eats it right off my fingers.
