The number for the hotel is not active. I booked my room with 970-493-7800. Holy crap am I ahead of the game!

Can't beat this. All that knowledge and a trip to the mountains of Colorado. Booking our rooms tomorrow. :dance3:

There has been a minor change to the schedule. Richard and Marcus Miller will not be able to attend the Annual Meeting so their demo has been cancelled.

Mating Animals – Ralph and Barbara Shoots (Westerville, Ohio)
Ralph and Barbara will share with us what they look for and take into consideration in choosing
animals for breeding. The discussion will include the important characteristics of quality and
how they affect which animals should be mated together. Bring any questions you might have
and Ralph and Barbara will be happy to answer them for you.

Young Rancher – Sydnee Dupon (Fort Collins, Colorado)
I have been a chinchilla owner for five years and a member of ECBC since September of 2008.
Since starting as a pet owner, I have learned more than I ever imagined about these animals.
As a young rancher, I will share with you some of my experiences since becoming part of the
chinchilla industry.
My first chinchilla was a pet, given to me by my parents when I was 8 years old. Over the past
few years, I have started to successfully breed chinchillas. At present, I own 14 animals and
have grown to enjoy it very much. Many of the lessons I have learned have provided me with
experiences that have helped with acquiring new animals and caring for the ones I have.
Learning about different breeding techniques and animal combinations provides a challenge
that many of the more experienced ranchers in the area have helped me understand. One of
the things I enjoy most about becoming a young rancher is learning from these more
experienced ranchers and how the industry has changed over the years and how fortunate I am
to have so much knowledge available to me.

Young Rancher ‐ Taylor Fausett (Bluebell, Utah)
* my first chinchilla
* traveling
* learning about genetics (something I really enjoy.)
* going to shows
* getting into breeding
* joining ECBC and doing the project booklet
* learning about quality
* my experiences showing chinchillas
* success
* problems I have encountered and overcoming them
* things that I have learned since getting involved with chinchillas

Starting & Managing a Small Herd ‐ Wendy Torgerson (Marathon, Wisconsin)
How can a new breeder get started with a small herd and be successful? A discussion on choosing a
'specialty', evaluation breeding stock, and maintaining & presenting animals to the best of your ability.
Some advantages and disadvantages of a small herd will also be shared.

Panel Discussion ‐ Ellis Adcock (Sonora, California), Vin Somavia (Sonora, California),
Gene Adcock (Iron Mountain, Michigan)

Ellis, Gene and Vin will answer your questions during this open discussion. They could talk
about how mutations started, history and changes, raising standards and mutations. Be
prepared to ask your questions about raising chinchillas and the chinchilla business.

Pelt Market, Pelt Buy – Brent Poley (London, Ontario, Canada)
Brent will talk about the pelt market – past, present, and future. During the pelt buy, Brent will
answer your questions about what he looks for when buying pelts.
Brent - Thanks for your support of E.C.B.C., chinchilla ranchers, and sharing your expertise and
knowledge with us.

Preparing your Pelts for Show and Sale – Ralph and Barbara Shoots (Westerville, Ohio)
Ralph and Barbara will talk about preparing your pelts to show and/or to sell including a pelt
grooming demonstration.

Colloidal Silver ‐ Roger and Kathy Clark (Crawford, Colorado)
Let us show you a way to naturally protect your chinchilla herd from bacteria and clogged
waterlines, and other things. With just a few simple steps, your herd can be free of much work
and many ailments. We will show you the benefits of colloidal silver and also the benefits of
filtered water with Puritec, a water purification mechanism. We hope to see you in Colorado in
November.

Judging Seminar – Gene Adcock (Iron Mountain, Michigan)
Judges will show you what they look for when judging animals. You’ll get an opportunity to
practice your skills with animals under the judging lights.

Hope to see all of you there! I am very excited for the Annual Meeting, but nervous, too. I didn't see it mentioned before, but the hotel has an indoor swimming pool, so remember to bring your swimming suits. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again and attending all of the seminars.

Just booked my room! Does anyone know about shuttle services from the Denver airport to the hotel?

The details are on the ECBC website. It has changed recently to www.empresschinchilla.org .I think the old address will still redirect you to it though.
If you can't find what you need on the site contact John Suhr or Bob Ducey. their contact info. is on the website as well.
Hope to see you there.

Only a little over 2 weeks till the Annual Meeting. There's a lot to be learned from these, if you have never been to one, now is a good time to start. I know there are quite a few going from the Heartland Group. Even if you are an "old timer" you will still learn something. Plus its in beautiful Colorado. Looking forward to seeing everyone. :thumbsup::FR:

Colloidal Silver

Is someone going to have some of this Colloidal Silver there at the show for those of us that know nothing about it like what it looks like or where you can get some?

Roger and Kathy Clark are giving the seminar on the silver and I'm sure they will have some to sell. If not it can be ordered from them and shipped to you. We have been using it now for several months and like the results. Since starting to use it we have lost less kits than ever before. Might not be the reason, but its the only thing we have changed in the unit.
