Hello, I have a herd of 6 chins and my gorgeous **** Ebony, Tesla is pregnant. Initially I wasn't entirely sure because she is 2 years old and has yet to produce a litter for me, but she went from 730 grams to 840 grams in less than two weeks and now I can very obviously feel AND see the kit(s) kicking which is very hard on a chin so dark colored! I was wondering, if I'm able to see the kick physically by just looking at her, she must be somewhat close to delivery, no? I was told that if you can physically see kits kicking through the fur she must be at day 90 or later. I also noticed today that her vent began to open slightly. Thoughts?

I would say within a week. I wouldn't be handling her enough to see if her vent is open it you may stress the pregnant chin too much.

IMO it's never a good idea to feel for kits. Let nature take its course. I saw kicking with my last litter at about two weeks out. But each chin is different.

Separate your male and female now to protect her from a possible breed back pregnancy. It's a comfort to her and gives her peace and quiet for her upcoming due date.

I've always heard that kicks can come at about two weeks out from delivery, but some chins show earlier than others, obviously. I've never really kept track.

If its a day or a month, I am super impatient for the babies to appear! I can usually feel or see them about 2 weeks out from delivery.

Well, I've got a female who has been having kicks for a few weeks without babies since I was last in there so... who knows.

Update

She has gained 28 more grams in the past 3 days. She is a sweetheart so she normally jumps out of the cage when I open the door but she's a little too round to do that now. Her vagina is completely open now...this past Saturday she was only very slightly opened. I can see the kit(s) kicking like they're trying to tap dance out of her. I'm impatient too...and maybe a little anxious... This is her first litter.
