due dates

so my chin is due tomorow, she is fat and wide( dont tell her i said that) all activity is normal it looks to me like her butt area is getting longer if that makes sense? near the tail. well my question is for all of you who have had kits how close before and/or after did the female deliver?

It's been 5 days before and 10 days after due dates for me - no way to tell for sure!!

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking if she is likely to deliver on her due date? Chins can go as long as 120 days, 111 days is just an average. They usually increase their water consumption 24 hours before delivery. I have also noticed my females usually get a little constipated and slow down on their eating 24 hours beforehand.


Is she in a baby-safe cage? Is she housed with any other chins?

Most of mine are usually right on schedule, but I have had females deliver up to one week later, and once a female delivered two weeks early.

Of the ones I've actually witnessed the mating - a few have been spot on, one was a day late, three have been two days early.

I witnessed Mira and Tinsel mating the same day. Tinsel delivered yesterday morning.

mira was renamed sabrina if thats ok lol. what a doll she is, runs to the front of the cage and raises her arm and waits to br rubed on her chest lol what a clown. cant wait!
