dry scaley looking ears?

i've been forgetting to post this, and I just looked at gizmo and was reminded...the back of his ears are getting a dry scaley looking patches to them. What does this mean? Is it normal ?

It's pretty normal during the winter since the air is dryer. I usually use a slightly damp warm washcloth to rub the ears a bit to get the dry skin off. Then I put a bit of Vitamin E on them. Good as new.

You can also buy bag balm to put on the ears, whichever you prefer.

I've found Vit. E is kind of sticky, but it does work just as well!

My chin has the same exact problem right now... I have been using bag balm on them every other day... I take a small amount and rub it between both fingers then put it on her ears. She doesn't seem to mind it, although some did get in her fur.
