I tried and tried to get in for the party, but it kept telling me that I didn't exist.

After reading the "Chat - Now Functional" thread, I sure as heck don't want to change my name just to get in -- I would appreciate it if they could fix the bug for those of us who have had "strange symbol" in their name since day one; I don't consider the ampersand to be odd at all...

We can't fix it and the people who designed it won't. When you have symbols it messes with coding for the program that was written.

Since we didn't write the chat program or the forum software, we can't change the rules... the rules are as they are and we have to go by them. Since this has been determined to be the issue (special characters in usernames), we will be changing usernames of those members with the special characters over time. If you have another preference as to what you want your name to be, you should let us know immediately. Otherwise, we'll change it for you.
