I was wondering to donate a chin for a raffle does people rather have it come from a well known rancher. I am not a rancher but I do show. I am just THINKING about donating an animal of course from my show line.

I just want to know what people think.

Depending on where you are might make a difference. I offered to donate a nice 1st or better animal for the national raffle once... and I was rejected. It was not said this way, but basically the feeling I got was that my animals/ranch weren't good enough to donate.

I did donate that same animal was going to donate to the National show to a branch show and it did very well at the show and I was told by some that it was one of the nicest pink whites they'd seen, and the rancher who won it has it in breeding. It is the only pink white male they ever put into breeding.

Contact the show chair for an upcoming show and see if they would like one donated and you'd like to donate one and they'll get you to the right person if one is in charge of raffles and stuff! I think it's a great gesture to help out the groups. :D

I've seen beautiful animals from private breeders so that wouldn't deter me.
