While I can empathize with her frustration regarding the whining, etc., I can't see this as anything more than "Sweety, those dogs need more help with training".

I don't think it's meant as a "I'm pulling my hair out, these dogs are driving me nuts" but more of a "this is funny". If she were saying at the end that they had to rehome one or both dogs...then I could see bringing up the subject of more training, but obviously she loves the dogs and has found a fun, hilarious way to share stories about them. I enjoyed it.

Yeah and the point of the name "Hyperbole and a Half" is that she tends to exaggerate the stories a little bit for humor.
The second post talks about how they attempted training the dog. I've seen past posts about her other pets and you can tell she really loves all of them.

hehe I have dogs of both types discussed. And, yes, a simple squeak from a toy will bring three of my five dogs around into blissful happiness state.

I love Hyperbole and a Half. The Alot is a funny one too. And the one where she goes fishing.

Like was stated, she is exaggerating, as you can tell in many of the other stories.

Yeah, I found out a while ago that I can't read Hyperbole and a Half while I'm in class, because I will burst out laughing uncontrollably.

Alas my Gracie is a simple dog too. I call her my dumb blonde but she is as sweet as pie and I wouldn't part with her for no amount of money. :wink3:
