Does your chinchilla hoard?

I ALWAYS catch mine stealing stuff and hiding it under their cage, they don't chew on it or anything, they just keep it there. I was vacuuming this weekend and found a pile in the back corner, I checked everything to make sure it wasn't chewed, there were no chewing marks. Then last night I caught Rex trying to shove an old dust jug cap under the cage.

Just curious does anyone else's chins hoard/steal your stuff?

Hahahahahahaha!!!! Chica does that too!!! Thank god she's not the only thief chin!! She likes stealing things and hide them under the couch that's near her cage. And it is soooo funny to see her grabbing things with her teeth and run away! rofl
One day I almost quit smoking 'cause she kept hiding my cigarettes all day long! LOL

My chins also hoard stuff. i often find unchewed sticks and a few uneaten treats hidden in their wood hidey house or under the fleece liner.

Chloe once got behind my dresser and I thought I had looked behind there since I know she can get to it (I have cardboard against the wall to protect her from a lamp cord and chewing the baseboards) and there wasn't anything she could get. She spider-chined up between the wall and the dresser and came bolting out with a measuring tape in her mouth. I had been looking for it for weeks!! She ran to her cage to put it in there but I grabbed it before she could stow it away.

She mostly stores wood, like Crysta's do. I find piles of her favorite wood chews in her houses.

Tonight he was working on moving the treat jug under his cage, when I looked up he just sat there and stared at me like "I don't know what your talking about I'm innocent."

Yes, Trixie has a couple of hiding spots for treasures. I have a tall bin in her playroom that I keep her bedding in. There is room behind for her tp run behind it. When I move it I always find chew sticks, timothy cubes and bits of paper.

Mine doesn't hoard exactly, but he gets annoyed when I move something (his chews for example) inside the cage. If I put things back after cleaning, etc., he picks it up from where I put it and moves it somewhere else.

Angel steals whatever she can. I used to store extra toys and such on top of their cage...but i can't, because Angel pulls it down and drags it into her hidey-hole.

Zim does. I put a pillow in his hidey house and when I go to swap it out to wash he has half-eaten sticks and other toys he really likes hidden in there.
