So... see pics... does this just looked like slipped fur? I've never had a chin slip this much at one time before. However, it's not dry or scaly or anything to indicate fungus. It looks like slipped fur to me, it's just so much.

Before I ever picked him up, I could tell something was going on (see first pic - had not touched him yet) and when I got him out, the fur literally came off in a clump....like fur slippage. He's housed alone, so I'm not sure how he did this on his own if this is slippage though.

Maybe I worry too much. Thoughts?

I can't remember which member's chin this happened to but it was just as big an area of fur slippage or maybe even bigger. But yes, to me that looks like a really big fur slip.
 
Woah, do chinchillas have blue skin? It doesn't look choppy like chewing, and with the random fluff on him it looks like slippage. Maybe he worries too much?
 
It looks more like a blue-gray in real life, sort of how gray chinchillas look blue, but they're gray... like a blue tinge... the flash makes it look more blue than I remember it being when I was holding him...
