So I have 1 month old triplets (I think they are all females but I need to post pics and have you all help me! And maybe you could tell me if they are all standards...male is standard female is violet) and they are 100g, 150g and 162g. The littlest one has always lagged a bit behind the other two but she is just as sprightly, if not more so! My question is, if they are all girls do they still need to be weaned from mom at 8-10 weeks (or does it depend on their weight, 200g?) or will she wean them herself? I have dad separated from mom and kits and he occupies the bottom of my martin high rise cage. I have a FN 142 coming in the mail so if the girlies have to be weaned I can place mom in the FN 142 for the time being. I couldn't find anywhere when the babies can be placed back with mom.
My intention is to get dad neutered (I found a vet who has done several jobs on male chinnies), wait the obvious time period to make sure he can't get her prego again and then put them all together. Would that be ok??? I would rather not sell any, I have fallen in love with them all! As some of you know this was an oopsy from the breeder (no hard feelings, even tho this has cost me a considerable amount of $$ and time and stress, lol) and Leo was a Bella. That aside, I would like to put them all together eventually, assuming they all get along.
One other question, could Bella be pregnant again? Once I realized he was a male and had seen him mount her several times I took him out and separated the cages...but then several weeks later when she started gaining the weight I just assumed she was pregnant and put him back in there since they both looked miserable w/o the other. Then when day 95 hit (from the time I realized it wasn't dominance humping and he was a she and separated them) I took him back out and just over 2 weeks later the triplets were born. Any ideas? If there is already a thread on this, please point me in the right direction. Thanks all!!
