Hello! Ever since school started, my chin has become depressed( I think)....She used to be happy and bounce around her cage. Now she just sleeps and sits on a ledge, The only time she gets excited is when she gets a treat. She has also been chewing on the plastic bottom of her cage. Any ting i can do about that? Also what are some signs of fur chewing. I see her nibbling sometimes, and her fur looks a little different. They say its a different color if it is chewed, but i dont see it. And what are some ways to stop that. This may or may not help you but she is a single pink white chin. Thank you soooo much!

You probably should get her something fun to do. A brown paper bag is good to keep the chins bouncing around while they jump on and shred it, but also some really fun toys may be good. Toys are essential to keep the chins occupied so that they don't look into doing evil things like escaping and chewing on things they shouldn't do.

When I have a chin that is depressed i will make up a ton of fun toys for him to demolish and put some brown paper bags in so the chin can satisfy the need to make lots of crinkle noises. :)

The only way to stop her from chewing the plastic bottom is to get a cage without plastic. This is why most caution against plastic bottom cages. They can and will chew their way out. So make sure she doesn't continue to chew it and make a hole big enough to escape.

As far as fur chewing, some chins do it just because, some do it due to boredom. You can try giving her extra toys and see if it makes a difference, but she may just continue to do it. It isn't harmful, just makes their fur not as pretty. I have one girl that chews on occasion, and then will stop.
As far as the fur looking a different color, it won't in a pink white because their fur tends to be all white. With a grey chin, they have a darker color on their fur underneath the top part, so it will appear darker.

As far as being depressed, are you interacting with her less? Like I said you can try giving extra toys if you have some. Or else just make and sure and give her some attention, even if you don't have time for playtime just spend time talking to her.

Yeah i am going to get her more toys this weekend. And i am n school so i am not there as much. And the plastic bottomed cage is just temporary until I save enogh for a FN.

You should get her more toys to play with. A cuddle buddy could help out too! Giving her more playtime could help her out too! But the main thing is to spend more time with her. Nothing beats that. =)
