Covered or Uncovered

I moved my chin into a new cage a few months ago, but was having a problem with her peeing off the ledges and it running down my walls. To save my walls and floors, I covered her cage with a dark sheet (the wires are too small for her to chew the material) and wash it regularly. But I think she's insecure with the sheet blinding her vision, especially of the door, and she hasn't been as willing to come out since (so much so that she'll spray me for so much as putting my hand in the cage for her to hop onto). Is there a different color that I should try? Or material? Or is she just being a brat?

To what extend are you covering the cage? Just the top and back or are you eclipsing the her entire world? Can you post a picture?

I have the top, back and sides covered, so for the most part she's pretty eclipsed. The problem was that she was urinating off the corners, so it was flowing down the back and sides of the cage. I considered getting a litter pan, but I can't pinpoint one spot where she uses the bathroom, so I went with a cover instead.
