I was told that a corner litter tray is good to use for a chinchilla, but I can't find any that aren't made from plastic... and I know that's obviously not worth getting :(
Any advice?

Some people use small pyrex casserole dishes with bedding in them. Those seem to work well.

Plastic is only bad if your chins chew it. I seem to have been blessed with two boys that do not care about chewing plastic. Plastic trays, plastic feeding dishes, plastic shelves.....all look perfect (if not just a bit dusty).

Yes, we do have a plastic corner litter box, for 2-3 days now. and they have ignored it as well. Getting them to use it to pee in, thats proving to be difficult! :tantrum:

The thing with plastic is they can just randomly decide to chew it one night. I had one that never touched plastic, then one night he went into buzz saw mode and chewed on his plastic FN pan under his liner. He ended up getting an impaction and thankfully after quite a few (costly) vet visits and weeks of medication and handfeeding, he's ok. He does have different poops now, the vet believes this is due to scar tissue present in the intestines caused by the plastic moving through. I have also read numerous stories of chins kept in plastic bottom cages for awhile then randomly chewing holes big enough over night, and owners waking up to find a huge hole and a missing chinchilla.

I have used square baking dishes, they fit into the corners nicely. I also use a large dog feed pan under their hay holders..it seemed many of my boys liked peeing on their hay..so the hay just falls into the litter pan for easy clean up, plus they tend to pee there often.

I have also seen corner litter pans on bassequipment.com I believe- it's where everyone buys the bass pans for the FN's. I can't seem to find them on the web page right now, but if you e-mail them they'll probably know what you're talking about.
