Oh, YAY!! There is our handsome little man!!! :heart4: I think everyone fell totally in love with him during his ordeal with that abcess!

Congrats to Scooter for being Pet of the Day, and extra special congrats to him for finally getting his forever home!!

:)

YAY, Scooter! Scooter totally captured my heart as we went through his abcsess ordeal and he was such a brave little boy the entire way. He was also rewarded with a forever home (with Darbie) :) where he will be loved and spoiled! She was so patient during his healing and now she finally has her sweet boy.

Thank you for choosing Scooter as pet of the day!

WOO HOO!!! Scooter is gorgeous AND a lucky boy to have recovered so nicely and found his furever home!!!

Nice work, Sumiko!!!

I've been really busy lately and haven't been posting much these days but here is some background and pictures of him throughout his healing process.

Scooter developed an abscess at 3 months of age. It had to be surgically removed and he was put on TMS and Metacam. All seemed to be going well but it wasn't healing properly due to Scooter scratching it with his hind legs and one area became infected inside again. Scooter had to go back to the vet where the area had to be reopened and cleaned out. We then had to resort to using a neo-predef powder in the wound (which had puckered open due to the stitches being scratched apart) and bandaging him to prevent scratching. I also requested chloramphenicol as the antibiotic this time around. The infection cleared up and the open wound took a long time to heal, with the skin granulating from the inside out and then eventually falling off like a scab. It was a 2 1/2 month ordeal but he finally healed up and is healthy as can be.
