Cleaning mushy poop of fur

Hello!
After being on cisapride, Tapi is pooping! Yay! Unfortunately the first few poops were of the runny, mushy category. The poops are okay now, but the few mushy ones managed to get all matted up inside his fur. Dust baths just seems to make it more cakey. Any advice from you seasoned chin moms and dads on getting it out?

I usually just pluck it out if it's not too caked on. If it's really dried on, I use a nonscented baby wipe to moisten it up and pull it out that way.
