I wipe down my boys wheel weekly with a wet rag, but there always seems to be a layer of "grime" left on the wheel. I was wondering if there was another way to clean this? It doesn't look dirty, but it's driving me crazy I can't appear to get it totally clean.

Thank you! I will defiantly try that! Do you leave it out of the cage for a certain amount of time for the smell to dissipate? I can only imagine the glares I will get for taking their wheel, they still seem peeved about losing their shelves for a couple of days.

I haven't had to clean my Silver Surfer yet. I had to clean my Ed Spins a few times I use vinegar and water. The stubborn stuff I use a plastic putty knife with vinegar and water which doesn't scrape the wheel.

Thanks so much for the info! The grime came right off! Now they have a nice clean wheel to get dirty again :p

I use the water and vinegar mixture to clean mine as well for a monthly cleaning and every six months or so I use a steamer on it after which I spare a bit of veggie oil on the gears to keep it quiet.
