I have two male chinchillas that have been together for about 2 years now, my first one milo, i bought from a pet shop - he was stuck in a glass case for his existence on his own with no handling or anything and i feel from this experience hes a very shy chinni. I got a baby chin to go pair up with him and since then they have been together just fine with the odd bicker, but in this past couple of weeks i have noticed henry his cage buddie will not stop attacking him. I have seperated them apart and tried putting them together on mutual terms but henry just seems to have turned into this really aggressive chinni and poor milo just gets attacked so obviously they are spilt up straight away and still are to this point.
Im not putting milo through any more trauma with trying them together as when ive read about it sometimes chins can sometimes do this, all of a sudden just not get along.
But now i just don't know what to do, theres no way id want to get rid of any chin as i couldn't bring myself to do that, but i have another very placid lovely pair of boys together in another cage and i was wondering if it would be possible to introduce milo to them two or is this not possible with the two males already bonded? at this point henry will have to live on his own but with plenty of cuddles from me and play time im sure hel be just fine
many thanks
