I'm terrible at resizing pictures with photobucket, so these might be really big. Sorry if they are!

The pan a towel on it, to collect all the urine-

Fleece on top of the towel, covering the plasic pan so the chin can't get to it-

Then it slides into the cage and the fleece gets tucked in, again so no plasic is in reach-

wow that was alot easier than i assumed:) thank you!! if i covered all my shelves with fleece(pillow like covers) would it make the cage any bit warmer? or should i just cover some shelves like the pan the middle and a few others and leave most wood? and if i have i chinny would the fleece and towel stink after a week? how would i know where he peed? and can i reuse the towel and fleece forever?

lol You're welcome!

Great job covering all the plasic! No, it won't make the cage itself any warmer. Fleece IS warm, but not enough to warm the cage or the chin. Are the rest of the shelves wood? They don't need to be covered if they are wood. I'm not sure what you mean by covering the pan in the middle though?

The fleece does start to stink after a couple of days. I have to change the towel and fleece every three days then wash it whenever I have enough chinnie laundry. Some people leave the fleece in the cage for a week and they're fine, it depends on what you want to do. If your chin is liter trained, you can clean the fleece every week or two! I know where my chin pee's becuase of "pee spots" on the towel. You'll notice discolored spots on the fleece/towel if you use it. And yes, you can reuse the fleece and towel forever! It's a good idea to have at least another one handy so your chin always has a clean one :)

Oh, those pans in the middle. I'm pretty sure they would have to be covered too, I'm guessing they're made of plasic. That would be fine for your chinnie to chew the shelves, he would have lots of other things in the cage to chew on also!

I know ferret.com sells FN's among other cages, but it's a bit more money - http://www.ferret.com/

Your chinchilla should be chewing on the wood shelves. Those are what help to keep their teeth worn down. Replacement wooden shelves are very inexpensive and easy to make.

Sorry to jump in... But that's a Marshall cage?! I was thinking about buying one instead of a FN. Would you say it's worth it or should I save the extra 100 for a FN? I hear the doors are a real issue on the Marshall?

Yup, it's a Marshall mansion! I do love this cage, but I wish I saved for a FN to be honest. It's worth the extra 100 from what I've seen, but you're still going to be paying 20-30 dollars to remake and add shelves, ect with either cage. But the marshall is like 50 cheaper then others i've seen, with free shipping. The doors are a pain the in bum, they aren't very big but still big enough to reach in. I have mine clipped down with some binder clips.

Not sure how well you can see them, but I have one on each side of the door

All the stuff in there got replaced, see pictures above!
