Our chinchilla will not stop biting her cage and we are unsure why or how to stop this. Is this bad for her? How should we go about this?

Do you mean biting the bars on her cage? If so there isnt much you can do about it. Most chins do that as a way to get attention and it shouldnt hurt her.

I usually walk out of the room when my boy does this. When he really wants out of his cage he runs his teeth up and down the bars. I never reward him by letting him out.

Rodents have broken teeth bar chewing. If she's just doing it a little or when you are nearby then ignoring it is the best option but if it becomes excessive you can weave thin twigs or palm shredders sold for bird toys through the area they chew the most. Then they might chew on those items instead which doesn't risk injury or make the annoying noises.
