so i would rather just let my chinchilla have his playtime in my bedroom instead of our chin room because it has more space and its easier for me. of course i would chin proof the room blocking wires. the only thing im worried about is his cage wont be availible to him anymore during playtime, because his cage would be located in another room. is that ok? i could bring some of his little hide out and chews and piece of granite up into my bedroom during his playtime so it feels more like home, but of course it wont be the same as having his cage right next to him. what do you guys think? will it be ok? because i do know that many people have their playtime in the bathroom so their chinchillas dony have constant access to their cages either. so will it be okay?:)

Not having access to the cage is fine. I do mine in a hallway. I started out with the cage in there, but it was really too small of a space, so we do playtime without the cage.

If there's no access to the cage during playtime then you have to limit playtime. I'm not sure how long is really the right amount of time, but I would guess that about an hour or hour and a half would be max. Maybe less if your chin really goes all out for playtime. You don't want to deprive them of water for too long especially if they are running around a lot.
