So I was looking on wikipedia for info and found this picture. You should use it for birthday cards for other chinchilla loving folks. Too cute!

Thats Melissa's chinnies. I believe one of them...Newie I think? Is from FurryAnimalsOhMy!

The chinnies in it are called Chewie & Newie :) They were entered into the hallmark card competition but didn't come first but 2nd. We were voting everyday for them to win too.

Aren't they cuuuute?

This is probably a silly question but... did she photoshop the background and hats? I just cannot see my chins sitting still with little hats on. :cute:

The lighting on the hat appears to be lighter than the lighting on the chinchillas, so to me it looks photoshopped. Very cute none the less.

You should only use it if you have permission to use it. This was printed up in a card by Hallmark, and as mentioned, it was used in a contest, so you shouldn't just assume because it's on Wikepedia that it's free to print up. Linking to here is fine, but actually printing and sending, I would think it would be courteous to ask.

I have this card, I bought it at Hallmark just recently, and on the back of the card it says that the chins ARE wearing the birthday hats -

the back of the card -
"Melissa Wolff, Newie & Chewie
The Party"

“I love how cute my pets are,” says Melissa. “The expression on Newie’s face is hilarious,” and “Chewie makes the whole party scene come together.” Melissa adds that the chinchillas are really wearing hats in this photo, which she calls “a fun atmosphere.”

Fun Fact: Melissa says that Newie and Chewie sometimes strike poses that are “visually overloading.”

Since you can see their cage in the background, I really don't think it is photoshopped. There are multiple light sources, I'm assuming the brightest one is the flash, directly in front of them. There are at least two more in front overhead.

It's not impossible to pose chins like this. You should have seen some of the photos posted by Dawn on CnQ.

Actually, it looks like Melissa loaded that photo into Wiki herself. Therefore it becomes public domain as long as she's credited for the photo.

Lmao sounds like something i would do. Way freakin cute tho.....

awww I remember that, and voting for it (as often as I could)! I was bummed it took 2nd to, what was it, some silly dog? Definitely bummed. But good times!

the chins were bred by Furryanimalsohmy (Corey and Ryan) and Susan Lamb - I believe the ebony was bred by Corey and Ryan and the white by Susan

This is possible. I'm sure there are some of you out there that remember seeing Linda Clark's "Buddy". She puts glasses on him and lays him on his back in a hammock with plastic palm trees holding it up. He lays there and swings. She can lean him backwards and lay him down on his back and he will lay there for quite a while - 5 minutes or more at times. She takes him to every show she attends. You should go to the Bellevue WA show on May 25 and see for yourself.

He is also a shoulder chin.
